Just Gorjuss...

Hi all, fed up listening to the news saying London is having a heat wave this weekend, its not nice here today very dull and dreary looking. Raining on and off too, ooohh and just as I write this the sun comes out!
Ive been getting my new magnolia summer stamp club inked up today so Im going to get the little kids to bed soon and go and do some colouring in. This is the first time Ive ordered the stamp club, I dithered for some time deciding if I was going to order it but finally caved the week before time ran out. Can I say I love my maggies but Im not too sure about this set, only time will tell how they work but at this moment I'm kinda struggling to get inspiration for cards with these designs.
Anyhoo onto my card for today, I've tried again to make a card using reds, I really struggle with this colour and I'm never really truly happy with the cards when Im finished but Im feeling this one is a bit of an improvement on my last few attempts.

Not sure what the papers are, found them in my scrap box, the lace is antique handmade lace from the little shop in Callander again, I've only got one little bit left so I think I need to go back and see if they have any more.

The flowers are woc and the little shabby chic bird was bought off ebay.

I love these gorjuss girls, I even have an iphone cover with one off them on it. I think Suzanne Woolcott's designare just stunning and she is an inspiration to many after what she has been through.

Right, well I'm off to do some colouring in while watching telly, maybe have a little glass of wine and just relax.
Hope you all have a lovely evening too.
And I'll try to remember to get these last to cards onto ebay.

Love and hugs

Pretty Ballerina...

Good morning lovely bloggers, hope you are all well and having a nice day. Its dry here today for a change, not sure how long its meant to last though!
Today I have a lovely ballerina to share with you,

I apologise right now for the photo being a bit squint, I really should get Meghan to do the photos as Im not the best !!LOL!!
Ive been really good this week and not used any of my first edition papers, Ive made myself look at other makes, this one today is a prima paper from their fairy flora pad. I just love the soft dreamyness of the colours in this pad, they look very gentle and calming.

the image has been coloured with prima pencils as usual and I've glittered her bodice just to have a little sparkle.
I found some feathers in my cupboard and thought these work well with the theme of the card, so stuck them behind the woc flowers.

Well its the last day of school here today, now starts 7 weeks of summer holidays, just hope the weather will improve so we can get out and about, only problem I have is trying to please a 1yr old, 4yr old (who like his dad hates shops!) and a 14yr old (who like her mum loves shops!!) happy! LOL!

Any suggestions would be greatly received!

Japanese Tilda and Take That!...

Good afternoon bloggers, sorry I've been missing for a few days. I did try to get this post on yesterday but mr blogger was playing up and wouldnt let me upload any pics of my cards!
I'm feeling a bit worse for wear today as I was at Take That last night at Hampden, how can group of men manage to turn a grown woman like myself into gibbering, screaming wreck!LOL!! Its just as well this is being typed because I've lost my voice and can only squeak! Let me tell you my hubby is disgraced by me and he wasnt even there with me! I went with Meghan and we had a great time even though the heavens opened just as they came on stage.

Enough of that now lets get onto todays card, I've coloured in Japanese tilda for this one and shock horror I didnt use first edition papers!!LOL!!

Ive went for the shabby chic look again and Im much happier with it this time.
The papers are from a papermania pad I forget its name, you cant really see it very well but it seemed to fit the bill being quite japanesey (is that a word? ah well is for now). Ive also added a piece of lace which I bought off ebay, the postcard stamp is LOTV.

Flowers are again rolled by myself using kraft cardstock, I also used the cardstock for the lace borders, made with a MS punch.

Loved colouring Tilda in, as usual Ive used prisma pencils blended with sansodor.

Ive then distressed all the edges with tim holtz picket fence crackle paint.

Right well Im off to put my feet up again, Im really getting to old to behave like this.
(Big hugs to Sara, I got my package today, Thank you sweetie xx)
This card will be on sale later on ebay for anyone whos interested.

Princess Tilda

Good morning lovely bloggers, hope the weather is nicer where you are than it is here today.  Why can't we get some nice weather? Fed up with rain!
For todays card I've gone back to my girlie pink. This has to be my favourite tilda stamp she's stunning, so girlie and I always enjoy colouring her.

Ive yet again used First edition papers bought from Fluff.pie on ebay, the colours in these pads are just so scrummy and such great quality.
Its not really showing up in the photo but her socks, gloves and underskirt have all been glittered with diamond stickles.

The flowers are from woc and local haberdashery shop, they have all been highlighted with iridescent medium. You can add this stuff to paints and make the paint iridescent, its really cheap and you get loads. It's made by winsor and newton. I bought mine in an art supplies shop but I think I've seen it on ebay also.
You can see the glitter a teeny bit better on here.

Well I'm going to try and get some cards made today. I am sharing a stall with my nephew at Airth Highland games on 23rd July and I've only made 22 cards to sell!! I'm so behind LOL.
My nephew designs t-shirts and bags and prints to sell, they are very popular, you can see his stuff here; Urban pirate. He has some really good stuff.

I would like to enter this card into;
TOMIC - colour combo, pink + brown+white

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Shabby Chic?...

Good morning, gosh 2 morning posts in 2 days!! This is so not like me LOL!!!
It's totally horrible here today, really wet and yucky, so different from yesterday.

Today's card is a bit out of my comfort zone again, tried the shabby chic look, not entirely convinced it worked but I'll share it anyway, please be gentle with me!

I've used my First edition Bird song papers again, well I had just got them and I just had to use them!
I think I went a bit OTT with the white paint, but this was my first attempt at this style so next time I will know better.
I also distressed the seam binding with distress inks, it was just too plain without it.

I really like this Tilda image she's very sweet.

I've used woc flowers as usual.
The metal corner started life silver, I used picket fence crackle paint and walnut stain distress ink to make it shabby.
I've also used a teeny tiny bit of iridescent medium, just the smallest amount, honest!!

Well I'm off to get some Fathers day cards made, why am I always leaving things to the last minute?
Bet I'm not the only one though, am I?
!!LOL!!

Tilda Blue...

Good morning bloggers, must have been a blue moon last night as I've managed to get a post done before lunch!!LOL!! So not like me to be organized!!!

I have a card to share today thats a bit different colour wise for me. I don't often do blues but I felt like a little change as you do every so often.

These are my new First editions papers called Bird Song which I bought from the lovely Ruth at fluff.pie on ebay. Thank you sweetie can't wait for my next pad to arrive xx.

I've used bazzill basic card stock for the matting and layering, the flowers are woc, seam binding off ebay and the lace border at the top is MS.

Love this tilda, she's just so happy.

All my edges have been distressed with walnut stain and I've highlighted with stickles. Had to sit on my hands though to stop me using the iridescent medium!!LOL!!

A huge thank you to my new followers, it's such an honour that you are interested in my creations.
Big hug thank you xx

I would like to enter this in

creative inspirations challenge - blue green and one other colour
stamp something challenge - something punched
Totally Gorjuss- flower power

Cute Little bug....

Good afternoon, and what a gorgeous day it is here, sun is shining and a light breeze to dry the washing, I've managed to get 2 loads done so far and im onto my third.

I managed to get time to make a card last night when everyone else was in bed and the house is nice and peaceful. I decided to use this cute little bug girl from hAnglar and sTanglar, shes such a little sweetie.

Ive gone a bit darker in my colours today as I felt these papers seemed to bring out the image.
I , yet again!!!, used my lovely first edition love letters papers, sorry just love them. I am waiting for another first edition pad coming in the post so I'll prob move onto that one next.

I decided to have a go at rolling some flowers for a change as I didn't really have flowers the correct colour. I used marrianne die to cut the spirals, bit of a cheat but it works well, I added little tiny pearls to each flower and put punched leaf fronds under the flowers.

The image is coloured with prisma pencils blended with sansador, It' s not really as dark as I wanted but Im still happy with it. Also everything has been attacked with stickles and iridescent medium.

I found the stunning lace in a little shop in the gorgeous town of Callander.
It is real antique handmade lace, dont know how old but its so delicate. It is a bit tatty in places but I think this just adds to the charm of it. I keep thinking of the amount of work that has gone into making it is amazing.

Well I'm off to do some more colouring of images and I have just had my post delivered and it looks like my new first edition pad woooohoooo, I'm off to do some paper stroking!!LOL!!!

Have a lovely day

No card today but....

Good evening dearest bloggers, sorry I've been awol for a couple of days but been a bit busy with the kids and garden work.

I don't have a card to share today but I thought I would let you see another creation that I've made.
I first made one of these canvases, well two actually they were twins, for a close friend of mine who had a much longed for healthy baby boy and girl last year.

I loved it so much I made one for Maya's nursery.

It started life as a plain white canvas which i sponged with pink emulsion paint, then distressed the edges with a pink dew drops ink pad.
I then covered a wooden letter M, that I bought off ebay, in scrapbooking paper and then cut out the rest of Maya's name using my craft robo. All the edges of the letters were glittered and stuck onto the canvas.  To make it more secure I stapled the wooden letter through the back of the canvas.

I then made the paper flower following a youtube video, inked it, glittered it and sprayed it with cosmic shimmer to within an inch of its life!!LOL!!
I also added woc flowers and martha stewart butterfly punchies.
The little crown with her name, dob and time was cut out using a craftwork cards plasma template, and you guessed it, it was also glittered!

Well thats all from me today I'm off to make some cards in peace and quiet. Hope you like this creation, i'm thinking of making them to order what do you think?  I welcome any comments, good or bad.

Love and hugs

Birthday tilda....

Good evening dear bloggers, TGIF although my weekend is planned out with moving several  tonnes of stones to the back garden.
My darling hubby has done 2 tonnes since coming home from work and is now feeling hellish!! bless his cotton socks!!LOL!!
My daughter and I had a lovely, but eye opening time, last night at the Glasgow School of Arts degree show. Let me just say some of the 'Art' was a bit out there to say the least!! Meghan loved it and just wants to go there even more now.

So onto todays card, I decided to do a Tilda card today as I think they have been a bit neglected by me of late and I do love my maggies.
I have found a new thing to play with, iredescent medium, so I apologise but ive gone a bit mad with it, I think if the kids stood still long enough they may have been painted with it too!!LOL!!

Ive used tilda with hawiian flower today and coloured her with prisma pencils, blended with sansador.
Yet again Ive used my first edition papers, love letters, I really have to use other papers, my hand just goes to these automatically, cant seem to stop using these!

I am thinking I may enter this into the The official Magnolia Inspiration challange?

A close up of the seam binding which is 'delicately' distressed with iredescent medium.

I love these trellis roses from wild Orchid Crafts, again it has been attacked, No sorry distressed!! with the iredescent medium.
I think I may have to hide my paintbrush as quite a few things could be getting the iredescent medium treatment!!ROFL!!

Another few thank yous to my new followers xx

Well I'm off to have a glass of wine I think before heading to bed to get ready for my gardening/landscaping tomorrow, gulp!!

Entering in;
officialmagnoliainspirationchallenge - birthday (greeting on tag)

Happy Mimosa...

Good afternoon dear bloggers what a weird day it's been here weather wise. One minute lovely sunshine, feeling quite warm, next minute an all out mighty downpour with water running down the streets. Then 10 minutes later the sun back out, what is going on? Luckily I've not had to go anywhere today, but my eldest Meghan came in from school like a drowned rat, (not at all happy might I add!! LOL !!)

I managed today to get a card finished without too many stops and starts, I think it was something to do with all the new toys someone got for their birthday! Kept them occupied for ages! great!! There were a couple of fights over certain things but on the whole a peaceful morning.

So onto my card which today is made using a Bildmalarna stamp called Happy Mimosa. She's such a sweetie, reminds me of a rag doll I had as a little girl.

I went all out pink and more pink today, I do love my pinks. I think after doing my sons card and using boy colours I'm allowed to indulge today!!LOL!!
As usual I've used Wild Orchid Flowers on it as well as some pale pink feathered babies breath flowers that I buy from my local haberdashery shop, which is also fantastic for ribbons. The ribbon on here is from there too.

The papers Ive used are from another first Edition pad called Love Letters, I'll say it again I just love these pads so much, there is so much in them and the designs are just delish!

The little wired irredescent heart beads are from my one and only local craft shop, Days to Remember in Falkirk. I went in to get stocked up with bazzill cardstock and as usual found loads off other things that I just had to have, well I did!!

As is my usual I have to highlight as much as I can with stickles. You can never have enough glitter!
This card will be for sale on eBay later if anyone is interested.

I dont think I will have time for a post tomorrow as Meghan and I are off to the degree gradutes art show at the Glasgow School of Art.
Meghan would love to go this art college when she leaves school and is very excited to have been invited to the private showing of the degree show, it goes public on the Friday I think. So we are having a girly night out, very rare occasion I might add.
If I'm allowed I may take some photos to put on here.

I would like to say another thank you to my new followers, and esp to Karen who has a list of new blogs to watch for and has very kindly put this one on the list.

Well I'm off to cook dinner, the little one is standing beside me holding her bib!! me thinks she wants fed !!LOL!!

love and hugs

Doesn't time fly....

Hi all sorry for the late post today its been a bit hectic with my sons birthday today. I can't believe he's 4 it only seems like yesterday I was bringing him home, we were on cloud 9, he was healthy, all bodily funtions working, (this might sound totally mad but after what we went through with my eldest son's birth and subsequent first days of life, these little things that everyone takes for granted meant so much to us).

Anyway he is 4 today and we have finally got him to bed, still not sleeping may I add, lol!!  but in bed.

Heres the birthday boy and his 'I'm going to steal the show!!'' little sister.
She's a monster don't be fooled by that 'I'm so cute' look!!! lol!!!

Onto my card for today, as I said yesterday I was off to make my son's birthday card and I was itching to use one of my new LOTV boys stamps, and this was the perfect chance.

All the cardstock is from my DCWV brights cardstock pad which is great for kids cards. The paper I think might be K & Company for quite a few years back, but don't quote me on that.

I didn't have the right colour of stars for the card so I cut them freehand from the same backing cards to match, and I added a little moon charm to one of them.

Love this stamp, isn't the teddy with his space helmet on just so cute. I also love the knowing smile on the little boys face, as if he knows something we don't?

Well thats me for today, I'm off to have a cup of tea, a bit birthday cake (shouldn't really but hay ho!!lol!!) and put my feet up before getting things ready for tomorrow.

Before I go can I just say a huge thank you to my first 3 followers yaaaayyyy I was so excited to see that I had some followers.
I can only say that I am very humbled indeed.

Thank You  so much xx

love and hugs kat xx

First Kiss ahhh....

Well I think I've just about got over my fear of doing this, hopefully I'll more views soon and please feel free to leave me a message I need all the encouragement I can get lol!!

For my second post I would like to share a card that I have made using a Sarah Kay image called 'First Kiss', I think this is such an adorable image and is a dream to colour. It would make a beautiful anniversary card don't you think?

I really need to start taking more pictures when I am photographing my cards I promise I will do for my next post.

For this card I have used the stunning first edition papers 'Spring Feast' I totally love these papers, although I do find it very hard to use them at least there is more than 1 sheet of each design in the pad, 2 to use, 1 to keep and 1 to stroke.

I've distressed all the edges with vintage photo and then glittered them with stickles.

The doily, ribbon and border are all from my stash as is the die cut swirl.

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have also put little pearl stamens in among the flowers, I think I bought these off eBay.

Well I'm off now to get my little boys birthday card made, he's 4 tomorrow! where does the time go!!
I will be back with his card tomorrow for you to see.

Thank you to anyone who is taking the time to read  this, its much appreciated.

I forgot to mention both these cards are on sale in my ebay shop for anyone who is interested.

Love and hugs Kat

Sunday 5 June 2011

Well here goes!!!...

I've been trying to pluck up the courage for ages to start this blog but with the encouragement of family and friends and all the lovely buyers on Ebay the time has come, me thinks!

This will be a huge learning curve as I am not the best when it comes to computers believe me, but please bare with me and I'll muddle through.

I'll start with a little bit about me
I love anything to do with crafting, my brain is usually going at 100 miles an hour with all the ideas I get meaning that everything else like housework etc gets forgotten about somewhere along the line, (I think somehow all we crafters do this lol!!)
I don't get enough time to do crafts as much as I would like but I still manage to squeeze some time in usually late at night when the kids are in bed and the house is lovely and peaceful.

Anyway enough about me for now, lets get onto my card that I would like to share with you.
I've made this one using the gorgeous Fizzy Moon stamps, aren't these little bears just the cutest! I love them and they are a total dream to colour.

I've used Prima papers on this one which I totally love. The flowers, pearl sprays and stamens are all from Wild Orchid Crafts. The cream butterfly was from my stash.
Isn't he a cutie!

Well thats it for my first post. It's made me break out in a sweat but I've managed it.

I'll be back very soon with more cards.

Love and hugs Kat x
